The band Azura has succeeded in the creation of
a music that defies all categories. This is because the
music of Gemini comes from dimensions of the mind not
commonly explored by the conventional. Areas within
me which remain uninhibited by the 21-st century
programming of consumer commercialism. The problem that
I feel creates un-originality in modern music is the
repetition and copy cat mentality programmed into society
through media hype. Most people start off in music
exploration by playing their favorite cover songs.
This is great for learning different styles of playing.
However over time this creates a mental block towards the
the creation of original music leaving the individual
trapped in a difficult to escape paradox. The scaling,
the solo's, The melodies, The progressions, The rhythms
all seem to fall into the paradox of past music / history.
As a society we are thought to copy other performers.
Perhaps this stems from our un-evolved ape like
mentalities, Monkey see, monkey do.
I on the other hand have never played a signal song
composed by another band. My music comes from a bazaar
un-programmed childhood of mystery, spirits and UFO's.
My life has never been one of the conventual's. I have
never participated in childhood games, sports, clubs or
social trivia. I never felt as though I had something
prove. The main reason being is I had no desire to
conform to the norm nor become another automaton.
Why be another boring page in an outdated novel of
self inflicted destructionist.
