The Earth's limited supply of natural resources will only be able to sustain 2 billion humans by 2100, bad news for a world that already feeds and houses 5.9 billion. The optimum human population, or carrying capacity, for the U.S. to support human life is projected to be 200 million, which is millions less than the current population. Disappearing stocks of fertile land, fresh water, clean air, fossil fuel energy, plants and animal life will control human population natures way, through famine, disease, pollution toxicity as well as through increasing natural / unnatural disasters which will accrue 50% more frequently with 60% more force by the year 2100. If we choose not to decrease our numbers voluntarily. People say we should have the freedom to reproduce. But this choice will inevitably cause our children to loose the freedom of life through starvation and decease. Science and industry in order to maintain profits and comfort consumers claim that technology will allow humanity to keep pace with the increasing population rise. The problem is that the focus of science and industry is not based on the building and refurbishing ecological resources, but instead focuses more on the ability harvest earth’s remaining resources quicker and more efficiently only adding to the problem. For example. In order to increase fish production, Industry is building bigger ships, larger nets lowering the worlds fish population to the lowest in recorded history. Researchers estimate that 150 species are forever lost each day do to human impact. Even if humans were to make the transition to renewable energy sources, stop polluting and degrading their environment and except living standards equal to one half of that enjoyed by Americans today. The population and statistics remain the same. Population reduction is the ONLY solution for the future existence of humans. More than 25 million acres of arable pasture land, the source of 98% of the worlds food supply are critically degraded and abandoned each year. In addition 12.5 million acres of virgin fertile land must be put into production to feed 92 million new mouths added each and every year to the worlds population. Fresh water supplies are being over consumed then contaminated by the primary consumer agriculture. Do to the use of fertilizers and crop pesticides 87% of the water consumed is forever toxified. It takes 1,400 pounds of fresh water to produce only one pound of food. Fossil energy from oil, gas and coal will be the first limited resource to disappear. Corneal research has estimated the worlds oil and fuel supplies to be forever gone in 35 years at present pumping rates. The primary threat to the human civilization is diminishing flora and biodiversity. At the rate and loss of 150 species of plants and trees as well as countless bio organisms will cause significant ecological collapse by the year 21,00 creating a major oxygen decrease and a bacterial human breeding ground full of incurable diseases. The present earth population is around 5.8 billion people. The earth’s population is projected to reach 8.4 billion by the year 2025 and 11 billion by the year 2100. Every day the earth’s population rises by 1 quarter million. Even if we adopt a 0 population growth strategy of two children per couple tomorrow, the worlds population would still double by the year 2025 and continue growing for the next 60 years. The statistics of worlds carrying capacity is estimated by the worlds percentages of remaining fertile land, fresh water supplies, food production and availability, fossil and the biodiversity of natural organisms. In light of this research which poses that over population of humans threatens all life. I find the Pro-Life movement to be most detrimental.
Please thank Corneal University and the research of Hillel J. Hoffman in supplying statistics for my writing.
Scientist have now figured out that if we could
shrink Earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all
the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the
following. The doctor adds. "When one considers our world from such a compressed
perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes
glaringly evident." This writing was presented by Shauna Cords
Something to think about........
"There would be 57 Asians...
21 Europeans...14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south...
8 Africans...
52 would be female...48 would be male...
70 would be nonwhite...30 would be white...
70 would be non-Christian...30 would be Christian...
89 would be heterosexual...11 would be homosexual...
6 people would possess 59 percent of the entire world's wealth...
80 would live in substandard housing...
70 would be unable to read...
50 would suffer from malnutrition...
1 would be near death...
1 would be near birth...
1 (yes only one) would have a college education...
1 would own a computer."
